Interdisciplinary Studies

available once you've completed a minimum of 56 credits

Create your own degree program, tailoring your education to your career goals.

Make yourself highly marketable to organizations seeking employees with interdisciplinary backgrounds and broad knowledge bases. Build your strengths and sharpen your skills to achieve success in any number of areas.

Working closely with an adviser, you'll construct a cohesive plan of study, combining traditional arts and sciences subjects with more professionally oriented disciplines. You'll choose a wide-ranging and inventive combination of three areas of concentration (business, psychology and communication, for example) that fit your career aspirations.

When you graduate, you'll be prepared to launch a career such as:

  • managing health-care services and systems
  • planning smart-growth and historic-preservation projects
  • running a small business
  • heading up federal, state and local agencies.
